    Hey Alex,

here’s some info that will help:

    * VGA- ‘Video Graphics Array‘ This is an ‘older’ analog signal connector for hooking up your LCD HDTV to your computer, to use it as a monitor. It is a 15-pin connector about 3/4″ wide. It is being replaced by the newer DVI connector, but will likely be around yet for years.

    * DVI- ‘Digital Visual Interface‘ This is the newer digital signal connector for hooking up your computer to your LCD TV. You will also find this type of connector used on newer DVD players, cable or satellite boxes.

You should have one or the other on your computer, check your HDTV and see which one you have there as well. With luck, you just need to pick up the cable.

  • We use a Tivo and we love it. There’s more and more HD programming and we’re able to watch all the shows we want when we want, and skip the commercials.

It’s great you use KeywordLuv, Top commentator, Dofollow & Commentluv. These plugins really make it easy to spread the linkluv!

  • I use a regular computer with DVI out from the graphics card that I hook up to my HDTV. I sue a DVI to HDMI cable. For the sound I use an 8th inch jack (goes into the speaker out of the computer) to left and right RCA connectors (which I connect to the HDTV. It works fantastic and the divx movies I have look awesome. Especially the high def divx movies.

Thanks for using the Keywordluv plug-in. It is also available on my site if anyone is interested. But please try to keep the comments relative to the blog.

PS: I check out some of your links!

  • I am a programmer and specially interested in the hdtv programming section. i found good accurate info there. thanks for sharing. on another note, I agree that this plugin is a great booster for blogs. for the point of view of the blog owner altough is not a set and forget. If ppl love their blogs they should really take care of them on a daily basis in order to don’t stack up on spam and crap posts. on the point of the visitor, this is a great motivator to encourage ppl to make a decent post on any specific subject, contributing this way to enrich the blog content. so it is a win win scenario in my POV.
    thank you for sharing

  • Diane from Lemonade Cleanse:

I wonder if all this digital recording technology is going to come back and bite us. People are now recording TV shows and then fast forwarding through the commercials. As a result, fewer advertisers are investing advertising dollars buying TV commercials, which means TV stations are earning less money and going out of business. Eventually, there may not be any programs for us to record anymore. Make sense?

I have not had the opportunity to experience Tivo yet, however, I do have an HDTV which is a must especially with a 42″ screen, it’s unbelievable.

  • Jonathan from 60 LCD TV:

    Hello,

Great Website. I always just use an HDMI cable to hook up my computer to my LCD TV. Is this not the best way? The picture is really good!

    Thanks!!

Very interesting point, Diane. The invisible hand at work? It makes me think of the music industry. In their case, I think they’re reaping what they sowed.
